Herbert Fairfax Leary (1885–1957) was a Vice Admiral and commander of United States Navy forces during the Pacific Campaign of World War II. On January 27, 1942, Leary was appointed commander of the ANZAC Force based in Australia. On April 22, 1942, the ANZAC Force was absorbed by the South West Pacific Area command under United States Army General Douglas MacArthur, and Leary took command of MacArthur's naval forces. Leary was replaced by Arthur S. Carpender on September 11, 1942.
